Continuing Professional Development
Don believes strongly in the value of continuing professional development and frequently attends courses and seminars to extend his knowledge and understanding.
Over the past 3 years he has been studying advanced
pulse diagnosis (the Shen Hammer system) with Scott Tower and Sybill Heussen
who have both been trained by Dr Leon Hammer to teach the system. This
approach is based on the work of Dr John Shen and and Dr Leon Hammer and
is rooted in the classics of pulse diagnosis but also includes contemporary
concepts and developments. Don is now instrumental in introducing aspects
of this system into the pulse diagnosis teaching at the Northern College
of Acupuncture.
He values being able to use a wide range of approaches to
treatment using acupuncture, herbal medicine and associated treatment
modalities and over the past few years has attended a wide range of courses
