Don Clarke

Don divides his time between his Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine practice in Horsforth and teaching acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York where he is a Clinical Supervisor and responsible for teaching pulse diagnosis. Until recently he was the Director of the Chinese Herbal Medicine course. He treats a wide range of conditions in his practice but has a particular interest in: aiding fertility / treating infertility, chronic pain, dealing with stress, migraines and headaches, musculo-skeletal problems as well as men's and women's conditions. He finds that herbs can be very effective for skin conditions, anxiety and insomnia.

He has trained extensively in pulse diagnosis which can reveal the underlying imbalances in a person's systems. Because of the subtleties of this system, about 30 - 40 minutes of the initial consultation are allocated to this aspect.

He is a member of both the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. His practice combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern approaches. Chinese herbal medicine can be prescribed either separately or in conjunction with acupuncture treatment.
